Buma ROCKS! had a great day at Fortarock In the City

Buma rocks had a great day at fortarock in the city31 May 2017
Yes, it was hot. But hey, Doornroosje has airconditioning, so why worry? From the moment the doors opened at 14.00 hrs the audience filed into the big room in Nijmegen's rock venue. So Destrage kicked off the day to a big crowd and it only got better and better. A varied international line-up catered to everyone's tastes: besides Destrage, The Contortionist, Bathushka, Noctem and Decapitated took to the stage, with Periphery headlining on their closing show of the European tour.

Pelgrim was the first act on the Buma ROCKS! stage, and this band from Tilburg got the first action going on the floor. Pelgrim played their asses off, like Ulsect after them. Great to see those bands play to a good response, even if they're still relatively unknown. The Charm The Fury turned the room upside down with their powerful set. After thanking Buma ROCKS! gracefully for the support, they got the pit going - and going - effortlessly. DOOL rounded up the quartet of Buma ROCKS! presentations with a set that was as brooding as it was intense. This band gets better with every gig and we can't wait for the next one. More on the bands on this page.

Meanwhile, in the Cafe, the Belgian duo of Goe Vur In Den Otto got The Wheel Of Steel Rock Quiz going with their humorous, no-holds-barred presentation. Five rounds that drew an ever bigger crowd of spectators. Winners could lay their hands on a very special prize: the first tickets to the freshly announced FortaRock 2018, taking place on 1 and 2 June 2018 - and Buma ROCKS! will be there again!

For musicians and others working in the heavy music business, Buma ROCKS! set up Heavy Chats; matchmaking sessions to share ideas and information on careers, labels, tours and the heavy music scene in general. Read more on the Heavy Chats here.

With special extras like the Q&A's with Metal Mike of Aardschok fame, and Periphery drummer Matt Halpern, and the Afterparty DJ-set of Goe Vur In Den Otto featuring a banging selection of rock and metal classics, Buma ROCKS! and FortaRock In The City satisfied every metalhead's need for a party.
